Who doesn't love a good story about an Irish American family? This book contains strong family bonds, love, and secrets. None of the characters are perfect and the author doesn't try to make them so. With the author and the characters embracing their flaws and using them to better themselves, you can't help but like every single character.
When I started this book, I never dreamed I would give it 5 stars, but before I was halfway through, I knew it was going to happen. In fact, it's the seventh book I've read this year and only the second I have given 5 stars.
The author does a good job of making you feel like you are watching every scene. She makes you feel for all of the characters. You chastise them, celebrate with them, and cheer them on. You are one of the Brennan's.
So, go to your local library or bookstore and find this book. You won't regret it.
