"Niobe's tears turned to waterfalls that have never stopped."
"At the right side of the page is this description. 'Don't let your pain turn you to stone.'"
"Women trying to accept their losses, when their losses are unforgivable, unimaginable, unacceptable..."
"...She apologized. Her murderer never did..."
"And what we did wasn't murder. It was justice."
"...Money is no substitute for justice."
"The collective changes you to suit its needs, magnifying the ugliest parts of your broken faith, weaponizing you..."
I was not a fan of this book. The feel of it reminded me of the movie "The Box." I'm not sure what exactly I expected, but it wasn't this. There was so much potential with this idea, but the author seemed to take a different route. I found the main character dull, needy, self-absorbed, and annoying. I will say, the ending....was great! I thought the author would go for a cop-out, but she didn't. The epilogue left you wanting to know more. But the last two chapters do not change my feelings about the rest of the book.
