September 2026

This was a very slow reading month!

The Butcher by: Jennifer Hillier-This was the monthly pick for my book club and it had been on my TBR for a while. I was very disappointed. This is a reverse thriller, so you find out right away who the killer is and the remaining book is the backstory as well as how he gets caught. The only thing about this...there has to be something to hold the reader's attention. I also did not like how they took out the killer (I had come up with so many theories and none of them were the actual way it ended). I did like that Sam received her happy ending. If I hadn't bought the book, I'm not sure I would have finished it. 2.5/3 stars

When She Returned by: Lucinda Berry-Cult mentality fascinates me and this book did an excellent job conveying it. I was shocked at the ending and my heart ached for Abby. I ended up loving Meredith. Great book. Great author. 5 stars
