August 2026
This was the month for audio books! Since my ratings this month are lower, just remember these are my personal opinions based on my enjoyment. So many other readers have enjoyed the books I didn't and the authors are amazing for putting their books out there for us to enjoy.
The Red Letter by: Daniel G. Miller-I found this one to be more interesting than the last one (which is surprising for a second book). The story line set up the ending very well. Still not one of my favorites and if there are more in the series, I don't think I will continue. 3.5 stars
A Court of Frost & Starlight by: Sarah J. Maas-I found this one very boring. It didn't keep my attention which made it hard to keep up with the multiple points of view. The ending, however, was very sweet. I enjoyed the books in this series up to this one, so I do plan on continuing the series. 2 stars
Missing Parts by: Lucinda Berry-I think I'm on a Lucinda Berry kick. The only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars was the flow and timing. The first part of the book was slow and the second flew by. With better flow, there could have been more added to the book. I do love this author and the difficult topics she approaches. 4 stars
The Swamps by: Seraphina Nova Glass-Had potential, but I found it very boring. It didn't hold my attention, so I was lost and confused. I know who the killer was, but I don't know when or why. 1 star
She Left by: Stacie Grey-A lot happened...and nothing happened Not sure of Adam's motives or why anything in the book happened. Some humorous moments and I loved the narrator (easy to listen to). 1.5 stars
