I used to read fantasy quite often, but I haven't in a while. Then I found this podcast called Two Book Bitches. They were talking about this book, and I knew I had to read it. It did not disappoint.

Feyre is a strong character. She annoyed me at the start of the book but watching her grow and become herself made me really like her.

Tamlin is a favorite. I liked him from the start. Everything he did was to protect his people. You could tell right away how much he loved Feyre.

As far as writing style, it read very much like a young adult novel (even though it most certainly is not). It did not take away from the enjoyment of the book, though.

Ending Spoilers!!!!!!!!

I was hoping Feyre would remain human. I never wanted her to become a faerie, let alone a High Fae. I really thought the book should have ended with her death and the beginning of the next book be how they somehow managed to bring her back, but as a human.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
