Raise your hand if you want to read a Hallmark Christmas movie! That's exactly what this book feels like and I LOVE it.
Moving to a new town, Ivy finds herself caught up in a bit of a local mystery...who is the little girl who wrote a note to Santa asking him to bring her father home? And what happened to her? This mystery draws you in to the story and is the beginning to Ivy's growth.
We see her go from a city girl from Atlanta to building a chicken coop and raising baby chicks (or "the girls" as she calls them).
I was so hooked on Ivy's story that I almost forgot about the mystery from the beginning. But with only a few chapters left, I was beginning to think we had heard the last of the little girl who wrote the letter, only to have her reunited with her grandfather after many years apart.
This was a feel good book, very little drama (just enough to push the story along where needed), and includes baby chicks and a dog. What else could you ask for in a Christmas book!
This was my second book by this author and needless to say, I will be reading more. Can't wait to hear what you all think!
