The Duke & I by: Julia Quinn

I am a little late to the Bridgerton world, but once I started, I couldn't stop. Once I watched the show, I knew I needed to read the books.

First, I, of course, couldn't read Lady Whistledown's letters without hearing the voice of Julie Andrews (and if I had known she narrated the show, I would have watched it a long time ago).

Now, for the rest of the book. I enjoyed the focus on Daphne and Simon. Julia Quinn wrote in a way that made me not care about the other characters, so I was happy not to be interrupted by the Featheringtons, Queen, or other Bridgerton family members.

Even though I knew they would end up together, there were times I found myself holding my breath, death grip on my book. focused on nothing but the pages. I needed to know what was going to happen. I was cheering on the characters (even when I wanted to smack them).

All of the characters were enjoyable. The writing kept me entranced. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and I cannot wait to read the next one.
