I received an ARC on my Kindle back in April, and am a little behind on getting my review out there (gotta love life). But you all need to know about this book.
This is the sequel to The Back Door Horse, which I reviewed earlier this year. We start back up with Imogene and Gabe learning to navigate their new relationship. Things seem to be going well, until a woman from Gabe's past shows up and shakes everything up. This, along with Imogene's move from New Jersey to Virginia, causes some strain, but if we know Gabe and Imogene, we know they can make it through anything.
I really enjoyed this book. I usually find the second books in a series boring, but this one held my attention. Especially when they lost Imogene's horse, Fortune (seriously, Heather, way to give a girl a panic attack). I am excited to continue the series. I want to see Imogene's relationships with Gabe, Aunt Jo, and Fortune flourish. I also want to see her new business adventure become a success! I am ready for the rest of the series.
I feel a connection with Imogene. We share some personality traits, which I mentioned with the last book, but in this books, she started a business plan. She wants to open up a sanctuary for horses that cannot find a home. To give them a home. I have said for several years I would LOVE to do this. So, if there is anyone that would like to gift me a few acres....
I would like to see to this series made into Hallmark movies (with me starring as Imogene, of course). As I read, I really see it play out like a movie. And just like a good Hallmark movie, it leaves me feeling good at the end.
If you love horses and need a fun, uplifting read, pick up this series.
