This year, my plan is to read the books that I started in the past and never finished. For every book or two, I have to revisit one of these books. This is the first one of the year.
I like the Hunger Games franchise, but as far as dystopian novels and movies, they aren't my favorite. I bought this one in 2014 to read on the plane home from New York. I made it to chapter 4. It has lived on my bookshelf since then. But it was time to finish it.
It was slow to start, but once it got into the third part of the book, I couldn't put it down. The victors all participating in the games together (even though I have seen the movie) had my heart pounding.
Overall, I give it 3.5 stars. Finishing the book made me want to read the final book in the trilogy and give the movies another try.
I know several people love this series, so if this is you, let's talk! What is it about them that draws you in?
