Ambition by: Natalie Keller Reinert

So, Natalie just announced that this series is not going to be available for a time while she does some editing and rewriting....just in time for me to be hooked and want to read the entire series!

Growing up I read Saddle Club, Heartland, Thoroughbred, and another book series that I cannot remember, and that is the one this book reminded me of.

Our anti-heroine, Jules, is ambitious. She wants to train and compete, and she knows what she needs to do to get there. She has put relationships (both romantic and friendships) aside and focused solely on her horses. She learns, however, that those relationships may be what she needs to really get her where she wants to go.

I was not a Jules fan. I wanted to slap her in the face several times while reading the book. Until she interacted with her horses, and then my heart would soften towards her...for a minute.

We do see Jules grow as a person. She's a strong rider and trainer, and that's clear from the beginning. She's dedicated to her horses. But watching her grow in her personal relationships and see how that helps her in her profession was amazing. I felt like I was there, finally able to cheer her on! She is starting to grow on me.

I can't wait to continue the rest of the series, but with the announcement I mentioned above, I'm not sure when that will be. Natalie, feel free to send me copies so I can finish the series!

Horse lovers, pick up this book. You will not be disappointed.
