The final book in The Red Rock Ranch Trilogy. I enjoyed watching Lucy grow and become more confident. She and her horse, Chance, have a relationship all horse girls dream of having with their equine friends.
I was pleased to see Lucy and Taylor's friendship grow even stronger, and we even get to see a vulnerable side of Taylor we haven't seen before. It actually made her my favorite character.
When I read the back of the book, I assumed the majority of the book would consist of Lucy preparing for her first horse show. However, this only took up the last few chapters of the book. To me, this felt rushed and I feel the author could have done so much more with this. This would be my only complaint about the book.
I could see this becoming a full series, where we watch Lucy grow and eventually marry Casey. We could see him running a cattle ranch and Lucy training horses. I would love to continue to see her grow as a person and an equestrian.
Although this series is for younger readers, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. This book was the perfect one to end the year on.
