A Novel Murder by: Elizabeth Penney

Last December I read the book Silent Knife and only afterwards did I realize it was a series. So, feeling the need for a cozy mystery, I figured it was time to pick up the first book!

Faith Newberry and her cat Watson did not disappoint. Starting her new job at Castleton Manor Library, Faith is excited for a new adventure. Until she discovers the body of her predecessor. With the help of her new friends and her feline companion, Faith has to work to clear her name and bring about justice for Doris.

This was a fun book. The characters are likable and feel real. You would expect the mystery to be easy to solve, but I can say I was surprised at the end. I'm also excited to see Wolfe and Faith's relationship play out. With a family history that goes back centuries, they already have a connection. Why not make it more??? I cannot wait to continue this series. It pairs perfectly with a cup of hot chocolate and a fuzzy blanket.

5 stars! Let me know what you think!
